“If you want your child to be outstanding in society and be an enviable asset, bring her to Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha – and you will see the difference.”

Our Story
Queen of the Rosary College (QRC) Onitsha is an all-girls Catholic Secondary School founded on 7th October, 1942 (the feast day of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of the Rosary) by His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Charles Heerey, C.S.S.P. of blessed memory, the then Archbishop of Onitsha.
We are guided by our vision: "A modern citadel of learning, serene and conducive for moulding young girls to become exemplary women of tomorrow, who are capable of moving the nation forward in all aspects."
The College is dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, with the unique philosophy: “Make them the fairest among the daughters of men.” QRC Onitsha is a citadel of moral and academic excellence, noted for highly disciplined students who consistently excel in academics, extracurricular activities, and later in their social and professional lives.
These achievements are driven by the unique formation they receive, the tireless efforts of our Proprietor, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Valerian M. Okeke, the Principal Sr. Maria Chijioke Nwankwo (IHM), and our benevolent support body, the QRC Old Girls’ Association.
QRC has produced professionals across diverse fields: education, law, medicine, politics, religion, engineering, and business. She is the pride of Nigeria, the Eastern region, and the Igbo tribe.
The school provides quality education for the girl child in Nigeria, creating equal gender opportunities. Our curriculum covers Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts, and Vocational Subjects. Guidance counsellors help ensure students excel both morally and academically.
QRC has maintained excellent performance in national exams like SSCE (WASSCE/NECO), BECE, and JAMB.
